Mobile Device Management White Paper via Intermec

Greetings everyone!

I wanted to share a link for a white paper on lowering the total cost of ownership with a mobile device management solution. The white paper was done with one of our device manufacture partners, Intermec.

The link is via Field Technologies Online, which is dedicated to enterprise mobility management topics both inside and out of the four walls. To download the white paper, you only need to answer a couple questions, of which, none are personal identifiers. Hope you enjoy it!

Wavelink on the Road with Intermec!

January 27, 2011

We’re at the Intermec North American Sales Kickoff this week and wanted to get a quick snapshot up from last night. I also wanted to get a post up on something that happened a few weeks back. I’m sure many of you saw this headliner, simply due to the amount of publicity it generated. But, it does make you wonder about how much sensitive information is being carried around us in most everyday situations, such as the coffee shop, the grocery store, public transportation and so forth. Further, it proves the importance for organizations – whether they be University research centers, private firms, etc. – to manage and secure their mobile assets AND the data they house.

Check it out and post any thoughts you have!

30% Growth In Rugged Computer Market?

August 5, 2010

This article from InformationWeek should make all of our device manufacturer friends out there happy. David Krebs, one of the most respected voices in the industry, with VDC Research is projecting solid growth in ruggedized handheld computers across the globe, and especially in Europe.

One of the items in the piece of particular interest is the expected increase in “beyond the fence” devices. As Mr. Krebs points out, “The real growth driver for rugged handheld devices continues to be with the ‘beyond the fence’ field mobile workers, which is the least-penetrated market segment and is only now beginning to see the benefits of making certain processes mobile.”

I know our readers cover a broad base of industries, so what do you think about Mr. Krebs thoughts on “beyond the fence” mobility?
